I received an email from a woman requesting that I show her how to dress as a tall, plus size woman. She is in her sixties and needs some professional office clothing. She claims her wardrobe is stuck in the 80s. Ellen's measurements are size 20 on both the top and the bottom and she has a 33"-34" inseam length.
I think I've found her some nice options that works for our decade and are still age appropriate.
Outfit #1 - Bring On the Color

- Chadwick's silk and linen cardigan (item # 2108-83910-1153) in 5 color choices. A longer cardigan with tie waist, or if the belt doesn't work, cut off the belt loops.
- Overstock's Kiyonna plus size v-neck gathered top is figure flattering, is made of jersey knit - meaning no cling and it feels great.
- Lands' End heritage chino straight leg pants - can be made in your inseam length. Straight legs flatter wide thighs and hips. The neutral color will be a staple to mix and match with almost anything.
- Zappo's Dansko clogs. Clogs are a hot trend for this Fall season.
Outfit #2 Items to Wear with Black Pants
- A wardrobe staple will be Lane Bryant's extra long straight lace cami (item 65516). Available in black, white and gray.
- Nordstrom's Eileen Fisher cardigan worn over the cami - a timeless look.
- Coldwater Creek's open front long sweater vest is a nice wardrobe basic and can also be worn over leggings.
- Nordstrom's Halogen floral silk blouse wear along with black pants for a beautiful look.
- Torrid's basic black pant with a 34" inseam and flattering boot-cut and mid-rise. A great every day pant.
- Old Navy's plus essential double-weave trousers with a 34" inseam are smooth with a clean front.
- For professional looking, yet comfy shoes I like David Tate's lola pump and
Mezzo by Van Eli pumps.
